1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to anyone who uses the Bachat Baat chat on this website, operated by Khayaban-e-Khwahish. It explains what information is collected, how it's used, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
We keep collection to the minimum needed to run and improve the service:
- Chat content. The questions you type and the topic categories they fall into (e.g. "saving", "insurance"), so we can see which subjects need clearer answers.
- Basic technical data. We use Vercel Web Analytics to see total visits, unique visitors, and which pages are viewed. It doesn't use cookies — visitors get a random ID that resets every day, so nobody can be tracked across days or across other websites.
- Language preference. Whether you're using English or Roman Urdu, to improve translations over time.
- Voluntary contact details. Only if you choose to email us directly through the contact link — we don't collect this automatically.
3. What we never ask for
The chat is fully usable without any of the following, and we will never request them through it:
- Your name, CNIC, or other government ID number
- Bank account, card, or mobile wallet numbers
- Passwords or login credentials of any kind
- Your home address or exact location
If any message claiming to be from Bachat Baat asks for these, it is not legitimate — please report it to us using the contact details below.

5. Educational disclaimer
Bachat Baat provides general information about budgeting, saving, and insurance concepts for educational purposes only. It is not a licensed financial advisor, insurance broker, or investment advisor, and nothing in the chat should be treated as personalized financial, legal, tax, or investment advice, or as a recommendation to buy a specific financial or insurance product. For decisions specific to your situation, please consult a qualified, licensed professional or your bank, insurer, or the State Bank of Pakistan / SECP as relevant.
6. How information is shared
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to advertisers, lenders, insurers, or any other third party. Limited sharing happens only in these cases:
- AI service providers. Your message is sent to the AI service that generates a response. It is processed to produce that answer and is not used by us to build an advertising profile of you.
- Aggregate reporting. Non-identifying, summarized statistics (like "how many people asked about insurance this month") may be shared with Khayaban-e-Khwahish's partners or funders to report on the program's reach.
- Legal requirements. If required by applicable law or a valid legal request, though given how little identifying data we hold, our ability to respond to such requests is inherently limited.
7. Data retention
Chat logs used to improve answer quality are kept in de-identified form and are not linked back to an individual visitor. Technical/analytics data is retained for a limited period for security and service-improvement purposes, after which it is deleted or fully aggregated.
8. Cookies
This site uses only essential, functional storage needed for the chat interface to work (such as remembering your selected language during a session). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Security measures
We take reasonable, standard precautions to protect the information we do collect, including encrypting data in transit (HTTPS), restricting access to backend systems and API keys to authorized maintainers only, and avoiding storage of sensitive financial account data by design. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and we will not claim otherwise — if we become aware of a security incident affecting your information, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users and address the issue.
10. Limitation of liability
Bachat Baat and Khayaban-e-Khwahish provide this website for general education only, free of charge, on an "as is" basis. We do our best to keep information accurate and up to date, but rates, rules, and requirements from banks, insurers, and government bodies can change at any time without our knowledge. We are not liable for any financial loss, missed opportunity, penalty, or other damage that results from a decision you make based on content on this site. Before making any financial decision, please independently verify current details with the relevant bank, company, or government office, and consult a licensed professional where appropriate.
11. Children's privacy
Bachat Baat is intended for general audiences seeking financial literacy information and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect identifying information from young children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
12. Your rights and choices
- You can use the chat without providing any identifying information at all.
- You can request that any voluntarily-provided contact information (e.g. from an email to us) be deleted.
- You can contact us with questions or concerns about this policy at any time.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service grows — for example, when we add the WhatsApp version. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "last updated" date at the top of this page.
14. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of Pakistan. It should be read together with our Terms of Use, which sets out the full governing law and jurisdiction clause covering use of this website.
